GREENVILLE, S.C. — Peachtree Ridge’s football team stayed unbeaten with a 33-30 win at Greenville (S.C.) on Friday.
The teams traded scores all night before the Lions (3-0) got the best of the latter stages.
Down 27-20 in the fourth quarter, the visitors blocked a punt for a touchdown to tie the score, but Greenville answered with a short field goal for a 30-27 lead.
Zain Belfield threw a go-ahead TD pass, but the PAT missed, leaving the score at 33-30. Greenville drove as deep as the Peachtree Ridge 19-yard line, but the Lions’ defense pushed the hosts back and held on for the win.
Peachtree Ridge tied the score 20-20 in the third quarter on Belfield’s TD pass to Braxton Palmer.
Greenville led 20-13 at halftime over the Lions, who were tied 13-13 at the end of the first quarter thanks to two TD passes from Belfield to Palmer, the latter a 54-yarder.
