Hayden Hollingsworth

Peachtree Ridge has hired Brookwood assistant Hayden Hollingsworth at its new head fastpitch softball coach, the high school announced this week.

Hollingsworth helped the Broncos’ softball team to a third-place finish in Class AAAAAAA last season, as well as a Super Regional appearance the previous season. He also was an assistant coach in baseball at Brookwood.

“The Principal, Athletic Director and Administration all share the vision of success that can be created within the softball program,” Hollingsworth posted on social media about the Peachtree Ridge job. “I’m thankful that God has allowed me to accomplish my dream, and I can’t wait to get started on building something special.

“I’d like to thank Brookwood High School for the two years I’ve been with them. The faculty, staff, coaches and players have helped me become the teacher and coach that I knew I could be. Having the experience of being a Bronco will always be so special to me. Lastly, I’d like to thank my friends, mentors, family and my amazing fiancé for their support in this decision.”

Hollingsworth went to Davidson Academy in Nashville, Tenn., before playing baseball at Maryville College (Tenn.). He then worked two years at Belmont University (Tenn.) while completing a master’s degree in sports administration. He served as Belmont’s director of baseball operations.
